Crawl Space Insulation Photo Album: Sewickley Crawl Space

The owners of this Sewickley PA home had tried several things to eliminate the odors coming from their crawl space.  In addition the room above had cold floors in the winter and was hard to keep comfortable. They found Home Environment Solutions on the internet and decided to call for an evaluation. Mark was the consultant that come for the evaluation and he discovered several problems.  The crawl space had original fiberglass insulation that was contaminated with mouse droppings. The area had high humidity and air infiltrating from outside.  Mark proposed several things to correct their problems. The Certified Team came out and they first removed the old fiberglass and safely removed all of the mouse droppings and contamination.  They HEPA vacuumed the area and used a disinfectant solution to clean.  Next the air sealed and insulated the walls and rim joist using SilverGlo insulation board.  They then used CleanSpace Encapsulaiton Liner throughout.  Finally they installed a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to maintain the humidity in a safe zone. The owners said they could smell and feel the difference the first day and now the room above is much more comfortable!
