Nicole from Wintersville, OH saw the Gutter Shutter by Home Environment Solutions truck when she was at the Steubenville Mall. She called and explained that her gutters were clogged and pulling away from her home. The Gutter Shutter by Home Environment Solutions team showed up and removed Nicole's old gutters including the metal screen inserts that failed to keep out leaves and debris. The new Gutter Shutter system was installed with the wide downspouts. Nicole's home looks great and the new Gutter Shutter system is working perfectly.  

Ron was experiencing ice damming on his Winterville, Ohio home.  Ice Damming is caused by heat loss melting the snow on the roof, causing the water to accumulate on the cold areas and refreeze damaging the building and the gutters.   He called Home Environment Solutions for help. 

The HES team arrived and air sealed the attic to stop the heat loss and added insulation to the attic.      

When Diane reached out, her single-story home was drafty, her energy bills were high, and her attic wasn’t doing much to keep temperatures steady. She wanted her home to feel comfortable all year long and needed better attic access for maintenance and storage.

Our crew air-sealed with ZypFoam, installed a properly insulated scuttle cover, and upgraded the insulation throughout the space. We raised the R-value rating with the installation of SilverGlo insulation panels and TruSoft Cellulose blown-in insulation. We also improved her attic access for better entry to maintenance equipment and utilize storage space.

Now, Diane’s home feels warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer, and noticeably less drafty, with lower energy bills to match.

Anthony contacted us because his home was difficult to keep comfortable during the winter. The upstairs rooms stayed noticeably colder than the rest of the house, and energy bills were climbing even though the heating system was running constantly.

After inspecting the home, we found that the attic system was allowing a large amount of conditioned air to escape. When warm air leaks into the attic, it forces the heating system to work harder and often leaves upstairs rooms feeling colder.

Our team addressed the issue by sealing attic air leaks, sealing top plates and penetrations, improving soffit areas, installing insulation dams, and insulating the attic access opening. We also upgraded the attic insulation and dense-packed areas that needed additional coverage.

By strengthening the attic’s thermal boundary, we stopped heat from escaping into the attic and helped the home hold its temperature more effectively.

Now the upstairs rooms stay warmer in the winter, drafts have been reduced, and the home runs much more efficiently.
