Nicole from Wintersville, OH saw the Gutter Shutter by Home Environment Solutions truck when she was at the Steubenville Mall. Ron was experiencing ice damming on his Winterville, Ohio home.  Ice Damming is caused by heat loss melting the snow on the roof, causing the water to accumulate on the cold areas and refreeze damaging the building and the gutters.   He called Home Environment Solutions for help. 

The HES team arrived and air sealed the attic to stop the heat loss and added insulation to the attic.

Our crew air-sealed with ZypFoam, installed a properly insulated scuttle cover, and upgraded the insulation throughout the space. We raised the R-value rating with the installation of SilverGlo insulation panels and TruSoft Cellulose blown-in insulation. We also improved her attic access for better entry to maintenance equipment and utilize storage space.

Now, Diane’s home feels warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer, and noticeably less drafty, with lower energy bills to match.

By strengthening the attic’s thermal boundary, we stopped heat from escaping into the attic and helped the home hold its temperature more effectively.

Now the upstairs rooms stay warmer in the winter, drafts have been reduced, and the home runs much more efficiently.
